I wasn’t sure what to expect when going to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, to be honest. The premise of the story is pretty straightforward: man is born old, ages backwards. How much could there be to the movie? The answer is, apparently, enough to fill nearly three hours worth of film.

As I said, I wasn’t sure what to expect, nor was I sure what to think. I’d heard of the idea of the premise of the movie before–I think that I read the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald that this movie was very loosely based on during high school–but never really given it much thought. It didn’t seem interesting to me, and so I was suprised by this movie–and how much I enjoyed it. Long story short (or very long story short, considering the length of the movie): I now understand all of the Oscar buzz surrounding this film.
