It’s another short week; Marron’s mother is having major surgery today, so her mind is (for once) on things other than comics.
DarkSakura’s Picks
Another glorious week of comic joy!
- Ms Marvel #46 - Finally we get to the end of the little argument over who is really Ms Marvel! It’s looking like it will be a completely fantastic fight, but what happens once there’s a winner?
- New Mutants #6 - I have been enjoying this title very much. That being said, all of this “Necrosha” stuff is getting into weird territory. Was that a zombified Doug Ramsey on the cover? And what about Warlock being back?
- X-Force #20 - This has been a very interesting story so far, and I’m looking forward to the end of it. It seems, however, that the end might be the beginning of something else. Either way, more to the messed up life of X-23!
That’s it for me this week! Tons of other goodies, but these are at the top.
And that’s it for now! Hopefully I’ll have my comic picks up to add to DarkSakura’s later tonight. Until next time!
Another week and another set of great comics to choose from! Let’s take a look at the top picks this week.
DarkSakura’s Picks
More comics this week! Let’s just get right to it!
- Dark Avengers #10 – Oooh, are we finally seeing Osborn go full on Green Goblin? Please, Marvel? At any rate, I’ll be checking this issue out in hopes that we see the ticking bomb go off.
- Mighty Avengers #30 - An epic battle? Do want! Of course, it seems like Marvel is always throwing in an epic battle every couple of months, but we get a big combination of Avengers, New, Young, Mighty, Dark, Initiative – I’m sure you get it.
- Dark Reign: The List – Hulk #1 – I’ve been enjoying “The List” series, and while I’m not the biggest Hulk fan, I keep having a mental image of seeing The Hulk just stomping Osborn. Hopefully, that’ll happen, but Osborn’s a resourceful guy!
And that’s it for me!
Marron’s Picks
Not quite as excited this week as I was last week, but there’s still some awesome stuff coming out on Wednesday!
- Blackest Night #4 – I think the you-know-what is finally going to start hitting the fan (as if it wasn’t already with the dead rising and becoming black lanterns!) Earth is being evacuated and Hal is on a dark journey to uncover the truth behind the Black Lanters. I can’t wait to see what he finds out!
- Invincible Iron Man #19 – I’ve hated this entire story so far. This is the last issue of the “World’s Most Wanted” arc. Let’s see if Matt Fraction can pull this out of the crapper or if it’s going to end like the horrible train wreck it’s been moving toward so far.
- Poe #4 - The ficticious adventures of one of the greatest horror writers of all time! The final showdown between Poe and Red Death has begun, but will Poe live to tell the tale?
That’s it for this week! Should all things go well, there may be a tl;dr comic review on Thursday or Friday. Keep your fingers crossed! If not, I believe DarkSakura promised a comic review sometime soon, and I have a few books to write about as well. See you next time!
Another week, another great set of comics coming out! What’s on your pull list this week? If you’re not sure, check out these great picks from your two favorite giggling geek girls!

Comics are coming, and this weeks has some treats in store.
- Nomad: Girl Without a World #2 – I picked up the first issue and found it was better than I expected it to be. I’m looking forward to finding out just what’s going on and how it happened. Falcon is also set to appear in this issue, so there should be some cool interaction, too. School drama and bad guys and monsters, oh my!
- Uncanny X-Men: First Class #4 - There are two reasons for me to pick this issue. #1. Colleen Wing. #2. Misty Knight. These are two of my favorite characters, and they’re teaming up with Phoenix for an old school butt-kickin’! Should be fun!
- Uncanny X-Men #516 – Uh oh. You know you’re in trouble as an X-Fan when all Marvel says in the description is, “He Returns.” Fun with Magneto, the (ex)mutant who never goes away!
That’s all for my list! And yeah, I know what else is coming out that week, but it goes without saying.
Marron’s Picks
There are a lot of great comics coming out this week!
- Star Trek – Spock: Reflections #4 – This fantastic mini-series comes to a conclusion as Ambassador Spock finally makes his way back to Earth — but why did he make this trek from Romulas all the way back to the home of his mother. I bet it has something to do with Lt. Saavik from Wrath of Khan!
- Doctor Who Ongoing #4 - The four-part “Fugitive” story continues this month as the Doctor finds himself confined with three aliens that would like nothing better than to tear him to shreds — and that’s not even the worst of it! What will the Doctor do when he finds out that the galaxy is on the verge of all-out war?
- Iron Man Iron Protocols One-shot – As much as it wouldn’t be Monday Comic Mania without my gushing over Spock, it just wouldn’t be the same without some Iron Man love! Robert Venditti — creator of The Surrogates — brings us a fast-paced adventure as Iron Man only has an hour to stop a deadly rogue AI from eradicating every living creature on earth!
That’s it for this week! Halloween is just a few weeks away now, so if you’re interested in some ghoulishly delightful fun, check out my Comic Quick Pick: Halloween Edition over at Eat.Sleep.Geek! See you next week!

Marron is in the middle of a big project with a short deadline, and so this week’s comic picks are left entirely to DarkSakura!
Another exciting week of comic joy! What’s on the plate?
- Astonishing X-men 31 - Agent Brand! As if we haven’t seen enough of her! I have to admit, the character grew on me, and I was really pleased to see her in the new Spider-woman motion comic. That being said, it looks like she’s going to make an astonishing entrance in this issue.
- Deadpool 16 - Deadpool, future X-man? (And no, I’m not counting when he was with the X-men before and his interesting uniform and…) Any time Wade decides to join a group, there’s really no convincing him otherwise. This has all the makings of a funny reality TV show.
- X-Babies #1 - I admit it. I loved the X-babies from way back when they were being babysat by the New Mutants. While most things Mojo-related tend to be irritating, the X-babies always were a source of comedy. Let’s hope this stays true to the standard? (Standard? Is there a standard with the X-babies?)
Until next week, Make mine… Oh, you know.
