It’s that time again! What do you get when you mix together two geek girls and a love for comics? Well, let’s find out!

DarkSakura’s Picks
Another week of comics, and there’s definitely some goodies on the way! Of course, I’m still dwelling in the Marvel Camp, but I just can’t seem to get into DC.

  • Captain America: Reborn #3 – Doom? The Red Skull? Time Travel? Yeah, maybe the way they’re doing this is on the hokey end, but the part I personally think is neat is that while Steve’s conciousness is taking a joyride through time, we get an insight into some of the events that created the legend around this character. Cool stuff.
  • Dark Reign: The List – Daredevil #1 – Okay, so I’m not the world’s biggest Daredevil fan, but after reading the New Avengers edition of this series, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next. How does Osborn think he can get rid of our favorite vision-impaired-radar-sense-whatever man in red? Will he be able to? Even better that this throws BullsHawkeye into the mix.
  • Dark Avengers #9 – One of the things that always bothered me about Ares is that he just ran off to be an “Avenger” and had a kid that he apparently didn’t know was running around with Nick Fury. This little issue gets addressed! And hey, I’d love to see Nick smack down a few of those wanna-bes!
That’s it for me this week! I’m still biding my time until the New Avengers Annual comes out and my favorite comic character gets to kick some butt!

Marron’s Picks
It’s a fantastic week for comics! It was so hard to choose what I’m most looking forward to this week!

  • Ultimate Comics Armor Wars #1 – Rehashing classic Iron Man stories (Armor Wars in particular) seems to be a popular thing at the moment, but I can’t complain; it gives me more opportunities to read about my favorite superhero. And, well, come on! It’s Warren Ellis. This is the man that told Twitter, “They don’t let me write important Marvel comics after the time I said IRON MAN should be about the adventures of a man in an iron lung.” I can’t wait to read about Tony’s adventures of saving his company from inside an iron lung! Just kidding.
  • Ghostbusters: Displaced Aggression #1 - Usually when it comes to stories about time travel, I draw the line. However, in the case of this new Ghostbusters story from Scott Lobdell, I’m willing ot make an exception. Gozer’s father, Kozar’Rai, has defeated the Ghostbusters and scattered them across time. It’s up to Venkman to save the day, but how will he manage to get the job done while stuck in 1886?
  • War Machine #9 – If you look up the word “awesome” in the dictionary (they still make those, despite the internet), you’ll likely see a picture of Grek Pak next to the definition. Morgan Stark has merged himself with Ultimo, and it looks like things are about to get really ugly. Of course, I’m sure Norman Osborn doesn’t mind anything that causes Jim Rhodes any grief. Pretty excited about seeing the next chapter in this fantastic story!

That’s it for now! Don’t forget to check out my full pull list over at Eat.Sleep.Geek! and we’ll see you next week!
